Friday 3rd October 2003 - Day 20/273 - Chicago, Illinois

We've moved down to the Regency Hyatt at 151 East Waker Street. Our room is fully loaded with dataport, cable TV and even a vibrating shower. The hotel complex has 5 restaurants, a newsagents (WH Smiths), a fitness centre and a business centre all on 36 floors and in 2 towers. We got a cracking deal off the internet at $99 per night, still above our budget and not exactly backpacking at it's purest.

Chicago is cool. It's a great place to be. It offers something for everyone. There are museums, art galleries, great shops on the mag mile, wonderful architecture old and new, theatres and even a couple of sports stadia.

The skyline is the best yet with the Lake Michigan as the backdrop.

The Chicago Skyline

The transportation is built on 3 levels with roads at land level and underground and a subway that run's overhead!!!

Today we dined on traditional Chicago Pizza Pie at the original Pizzeria Uno on 29 East Ohio Street. Pizza pie is made with thick pastry as opposed to dough. Now I know why Chicago is known as the Windy City.
